The Phoenix Literary Magazine
The Phoenix Literary Magazine, a student-run magazine at Baylor University, has been a forum for students to publish their literary and artistic work for over 50 years. Each year, the magazine publishes a variety of original, unpublished pieces produced by undergraduate students, including (but not necessarily limited to) poetry, fiction, creative nonfiction, screenwriting, drawings, paintings, photography, and lithography.
Submissions are reviewed by an editorial panel of students in each category, and every piece receives detailed consideration, whether or not it is accepted for publication. The Phoenix also awards a "Top Submission" in each of three categories: poetry, prose, and art and photography. They are voted on by the editorial panel and chosen by an outside judge.
Submissions
Any undergraduate student may apply to be on the editorial board or submit manuscripts for publication. The editors of The Phoenix gain valuable experience by editing the pieces and deciding which will be accepted by the magazine and which will be rejected.
We accept submissions in the following four categories: poetry, fiction prose, creative nonfiction, and art and photography. Please send all submissions to: thephoenixlitmag@gmail.com
Please note that you must send your submission using a Baylor email address (i.e. Jane_Doe@baylor.edu).
