Bio
Clay Butler's areas of interest are linguistic pragmatics (i.e., how language is used in actual conversations), sociolinguistics (i.e., how social identity influences language choices), and linguistic anthropology (i.e., how language and culture interact).
Dr. Butler enjoys leading summer study abroad trips. For many years he took students to Peru and is currently leading a group to New Zealand. Learn more on the program's website:
