George Wilhite

A two-time Edgar Award judge (2019 Best First Novel and 2023 Best Short Story), George Wilhite has published a novel, The Texas Rodeo Murder, and numerous short stories, which have appeared in Rio Grande Review, ShadowKeep, American Western Magazine, Fedora III (an MWA anthology), INSIGHTS: An Anthology of Contemporary Short Stories, Kings River Review, Black Cat Weekly, Mystery Tribune, Mystery Magazine, and Hardluck Stories. Genres include western, noir, detective, mystery, and speculative fiction. He is an active member of Mystery Writers of America and Western Writers of America. He has also served as a speaker, presenter, and panel member at numerous writing conferences, including DFWCon and ArmadilloCon, as well as presenting short story and nonfiction writing workshops in Colorado, Oklahoma, Louisiana, and Maryland. He was an associate professor and the English department chair at Texas State Technical College in Waco.
